MWC is a large-scale cheese and whey protein manufacturing facility in St. Johns, Michigan.
MWC processes over 2.9 billion pounds of milk, and will produce in excess of 300 million pounds of superior block cheese and 20 million pounds of value-added whey proteins powders each year. Employing nearly 260 employees, MWC will make world-class products of the highest quality to be sold throughout the world.
This location allows us to partner with regional dairy farmers to receive the freshest milk available for our products. Local milk producers are an invaluable resource to MWC, and are the heart of our business.

Select Milk formed in 1994 out of a desire by a group of family dairy producers to develop a national footprint for the perfect milk. Along with Dairy Farmers of America, Select Milk markets much of the milk produced in Michigan.
Dairy Farmers of America is made up of more than 13,000 diverse family farmers from across the country and, prior to MWC, much of that milk supply was being transported out of state due to lack of local processing capacity.

MWC produces 300 million pounds of superior Cheddar, Monterey Jack and Colby Jack cheeses. Our cheese is made from the freshest local milk and shipped out to a number of national brands and international food companies for packaging and resale. Made from the finest ingredients and produced in our state-of-the-art cheese processing facility, MWC’s products deliver exceptional texture and flavor for many applications. Each variety is available in 40 lb. or 640 lb. blocks.
Nutritional whey protein concentrate
and whey protein isolate
MWC produces whey protein concentrate and whey protein isolate. Our whey protein is derived from fresh dairy which allows us to manufacture the most sought-after solutions in the industry.
Manufactured in our dedicated whey processing facility, our whey proteins come from a microfiltration and ultrafiltration membrane process pioneered by Glanbia Nutritionals. We produce highly-purified whey protein concentrate and isolate for a variety of nutritional and functional products. Whey protein concentrate and isolate are ideally suited for use in sports nutrition products, protein bars, and a host of other applications.
